The 2012 Official Great Aussie Pie Competition was recently held at Fine Food Show at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre. For 23 years the Official Great Aussie Meat Pie Competition has served to promote and celebrate Australia’s much-loved icon; the perfect meat pie. As the original and biggest nationally recognised pie competition in Australia, the Competition is highly regarded by the baking industry and represents the pinnacle of pie making excellence.
This year Goldsteins Bakery and Pie Shop won four awards at the Great Aussie Pie Competition. A Bronze for both their Plain Mince Pie and Steak Cheese & Bacon, a Silver for their popular Curry Chicken Pie and a Gold in the Red Meat Category for their new Corned Beef Pie.
